Marino Ritondo, 68, a resident of Wappingers Falls for 8 years, formerly of Cedarhurst, Long Island, died at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie on Saturday, April 16, 2011.
He was a dedicated employee for the Village of Lawrence for over 20 years until his retirement in 1994.
Marino was an animal lover. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
Born in Far Rockaway on November 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Marino and Marianne Corcione Ritondo.
On May 2, 1965, he married Dorothy Wunch at St. Joachim's Church in Cedarhurst. Mrs. Ritondo survives at home.
Additional survivors include his children, Christopher Ritondo and his wife Alyson of Reading, MA and Jennifer Ritondo of Lake Huntington; his grandchildren, Jamie, Thomas, and Olivia Ritondo of Reading, MA and Ryan O'Neil of Wappingers Falls; his brother Thomas Ritondo and his wife Cathy of Southold; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
