Mario Aloia, 81, a resident of Poughquag since 2004 and formerly of Arizona, Valhalla and the Bronx, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Lutheran Care Center.
Born in the Bronx on April 30, 1932, he was the son of Gennaro and Agnes DeStefano Aloia. Mario worked for Farberware in the Bronx until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed spending time at the Beekman Senior Center.
On October 4, 1958 in Brooklyn, Mario married Josephine Rapisardi who predeceased him on July 31, 2010. He is survived by his children and their spouses, George and Maria Aloia of Pleasantville, Richard Aloia of South Salem, Joseph and Michelle Aloia of LaGrangeville, Agnes and Robert Vecchione of Poughquag; his grandchildren, Kristen, Michelle, Elizabeth and Jaclyn Aloia, Ashley, Lauryn and Joseph Aloia, Marisa and Michael Vecchione; and his brothers, Eddie Aloia of New Jersey, Ray Aloia and his wife Kathy of New Jersey.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
