FISHKILL - Mario A. Gioja, 96, died on December 5, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on April 30, 1929 in Queens, he was the son of the late Michael and Cecilia (Vieweg) Gioja. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mario was employed by the Somers School District until his retirement.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynne Albertson and her longtime partner, Lee Sullivan; and his grandchildren, Emily and Daniel Albertson. In addition to his parents, Mario was predeceased by wife, Eleanor Gregorek Gioja on April 19, 2024; and his daughter, Laurie Gioja on March 8, 2022.

A funeral service is being held on Friday, December 12th at 11 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by military honors. Private entombment will take place at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
