Marion Emerson's Obituary
Marian Bridget Emerson, 78, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 2009 and formerly of Yonkers, died on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in New York City on May 28, 1937, she was the daughter of James and Bridget Shannon Durkin. Marion had been employed as a clerk for Westchester Medical Center until her retirement in 2009. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, and formerly of St. Denis Church in Yonkers. Marion was an avid Bingo player.
On August 29, 1959 in New York City, Marion married John Emerson who predeceased her on August 13, 1997. She is survived by her son John Emerson and his wife Christina of Hopewell Junction; her granddaughter, Julianna Emerson; her brother, John Durkin; and several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 9am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Calverton National Cemetery. For online condolences, please visit Marion's Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
