HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Marion Wise, 87, a resident of Hopewell Junction, passed away peacefully at her home on December 15, 2023. She previously lived in Valhalla.
Born in Yonkers on November 9, 1936, Marion was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Suchenska) Moroch. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Cochran School of Nursing in Yonkers, and was employed at several facilities including St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains and Gimbels in New York City.
On May 5, 1986, she married Paul S. Wise who predeceased her in 2012. Marion enjoyed playing ping pong and tennis, and was the recipient of many local awards. As an avid bridge player, she accumulated over 20 master points. Marion liked to travel and do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved reading and was an active volunteer at the East Fishkill Library.
Marion is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Heidi and Jasper Smit and Sharon and Alain Lefloch; her grandchildren, Brian Lefloch, Marielle Lefloch and her fiancé Philip Tarrant, Alan Smit and his wife Cher, Helen Smit, Freda Smit, and Shirley Smit.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marion was also predeceased in 2020 by her brother and his wife, John and Joan Moroch.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 19 from 6-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 20 at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
