Obituary

In Loving Memory of

MARK STEVEN MCCALL, JR.

July 14, 1988 ~ April 1, 2026

Mark Steven McCall, Jr. passed away on April 1, 2026.

Mark Jr. was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle whose warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered for his kindness, strength, and willingness to help others.

Born on July 14, 1988, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Mark Jr. spent his early years there before moving to New York in 2009. On April 28, 2024, he married his beautiful and devoted wife, Brittany. Together, they were blessed with two young children, Zakai and Anias.

On January 31, 2015, Mark Jr. dedicated his life to Jehovah God and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. His faith gave him purpose, and he found great joy in the ministry and in using his deep voice for Bible reading assignments.

Mark Jr. was employed by Newburgh Beacon Bus Corporation as a bus driver and dispatcher. Standing at 6'7", he enjoyed playing basketball, though he would jokingly admit it wasn't his strongest skill. His true gift-his hidden passion-was playing the piano and keyboard. In his downtime, he loved playing cards with family and friends, often bringing everyone together on Friday nights for a game of Spades.

More than anything, Mark Jr. loved his family. He was a devoted husband and an amazing father, committed to providing and caring for them, even in the face of recent health struggles. He took great joy in being a dad and was loving, proud, and protective.

He is survived by his wife, Brittany McCall; his children, Zakai and Anias McCall; his parents, Jacqueline Shields Mark and Michelle McCall; his siblings, Johnathan Shields, Precious Shields, David Jackson (Angela Jackson), and Cheyenne McCall; his maternal grandparents, Rev. Robert and Rev. Jackaline Shields; his paternal grandmother, Bessie McCall; his niece, Princess; his nephews, Noah and Maverick; his father and mother-in-law David and Tabiatha Munroe; his sister/cousins, Shaneek McCall and Julia Marrow-Igie; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mark Jr. was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

John 5:28 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice."
