Mary Cannata of Hopewell Junction, passed away on December 5, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born in the Bronx on September 22, 1931 to the late Carl and Jenny Santoro. She married her beloved husband Joseph Cannata at Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx. They spent many happy years together until he passed away in 2002.

Mary was a homemaker who loved her family very much. She greatly enjoyed working outside in her garden, reading her magazines, and taking walks around the neighborhood with her dog Penny. She loved to stop and visit with her neighbors. She also enjoyed trips to the casino with her family.

Mary is survived by her 3 daughters: Lorraine Benson and her husband Alan, Jenny Schneider, and Donna Taylor; her granddaughter Amanda Wood and her husband Brent; her 2 great-grandchildren Joseph and Charlotte Wood; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Joseph, Mary was predeceased by her many brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be held on Monday December 9th, 2024 from 9-11 am at the McHoul Funeral Home 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will begin at 11 am, followed by burial at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
