Mary Elizabeth Casey, 76, died on January 21, 2025 at her home.

Mary was born in the Bronx on July 7, 1948, the daughter of the late Edward P. Casey Sr. and Mildred Elizabeth (Barris) Casey. An area resident since 1988, she had previously resided in Pennsylvania for 22 years.

Mary was the biggest fan of both the New York Yankees and New York Giants. She had great plans to marry Derek Jeter, but following his marriage, she moved her allegiance to Aaron Judge. She participated for many years in walking and swimming for the Special Olympics. Mary loved to be surrounded by happiness, and it has been said that she had more friends than God.

Mary is survived by her sister, Judith Vitolo and her husband Frank; her brother, Edward Casey Jr. and his wife Pat; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as the many friends that she has made throughout her life, especially those she made through Abilities First. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Robert Casey and William Casey.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9:30-11:00am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 11:30am at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 185 Hudson View Drive, Poughkeepsie.
