EAST FISHKILL - Mary A. Christie, 97, an area resident since 1974 and formerly of the Bronx, died peacefully at her home on February 22, 2026.

Born on December 15, 1928 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Josephine (Papa) Rizzo. Mary had worked as a secretary for Marketing Administration in New York City.

Mary was a parishioner of St. Columba Church. She was a member of the East Fishkill Seniors and enjoyed bowling.

On October 13, 1956 at St. Theresa's Church in the Bronx, Mary married the love of her life, Robert F. Christie, who predeceased her on July 6, 2014. She is survived by her children, Rosemary Christie, Marianne Peci, Joseph Christie, and Robert F. Christie Jr. and his wife Lori; her grandchildren, Christie and Bill Doria, Michael and Holly Peci, Kayla Chaluisan, Marissa and Rob Enny, Jonathan Christie, Robert Christie, Matthew Christie, Timothy Christie, and Angelina Christie; her great-grandchildren, Anthony Doria, Brianna Doria, Amia Chaluisan, Jovani Rosa, Anjru Rosa, Julianna Enny and Olivia Enny; her siblings, Gloria Iannibelli, Vincent Rizzo and his wife Connie, Viola Gelsomino and her husband Peter; her sister-in-law, Donna Koester; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Frances Beteille.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Columba Catholic Church or the American Institute for Cancer Research.
