Hopewell Junction – Mary Barrett Dunne, 90, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 2017, passed away at home on February 1, 2024.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 21, 1933, she was the daughter of Margaret (Casey) and Patrick Barrett.

On September 9, 1952 she married John J. Dunne who predeceased her on January 14, 1982.

Before moving to Hopewell Junction to be with her family, Mary lived in Ireland for 19 years. She was a devoted parishioner of The River of Life Church.

She is survived by her sister, Sr. Patrica Barrett of Rhode Island; her daughter, Mary Ellen Kurzius and her husband Charles of Hopewell Junction; her daughter, Patricia Dunne of Hailey, ID; her son John F. Dunne and his wife Catherine of Cortlandt Manor; her 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; her nieces in Idaho and Connecticut and many cousins and friends in Ireland.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Colleen Marie (Dunne) McLean on November 9, 2016; her granddaughter, Erin Patricia Dunne on March 27, 2006 and her sister, Anne (Barrett) Hardie on March 30, 2020.
