Obituary

Wilmington MA-

On Monday, April 11, 2011, Mary K. Efantes passed at the Wilmington Health Care Facility in Wilmington MA. Mrs. Efantes had been battling the effects of dementia.

For twenty-three years Mrs. Efantes and her husband Charles were the owners of Vassar Road Copy Gals, Inc.
They were known for their outstanding service, and she was often referred to as the "resume creator".

Mrs. Efantes, in the best of times, was an active volunteer throughout the community. She was a volunteer at Vassar Brothers Hospital and she served briefly on the Wappingers Falls Republican Committee. Mary was a member of the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, Poughkeepsie NY. She served on many church committees including the Hellenic Festival Opening Ceremonies where she personally prepared and donated hundreds of Greek pastries for the festivities. Mrs. Efantes also served as President, Secretary and Vice President of the philanthropic church organization, the Greek Ladies Philoptochos Society of Poughkeepsie and Woburn MA.

In the mid seventies, Mr. and Mrs. Efantes were the Worthy Patron and Matron of Cascade Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Wappingers Falls, NY. Their leadership of the membership and officers, known as Charlie's Angels' was blueprinted with organization and precision and most of all humor.

Mrs. Efantes was an animal activist. She believed that a house was not a home without a pet. She was often seen wallking her little Benji. Benji would prove to be a major factor in keeping Mrs. Efantes in the present. She enjoyed yoga, walking, music, and she enjoyed reading the Poughkeepsie Journal while drinking her first cup of coffee for the day.

Mrs. Efantes was pre-deceased by many relatives and her husband Charles in 1999. Her daughter, Denise of Poughkeepsie and her family, made the following statement," Mom shared many precious moments with family and friends. Those of us who had the opportunity to share our lives with her are very fortunate. Her disease took her away from us long ago. Today, we hope that she has found the solace, peace and love that she deserves".

Mrs. Efantes will be buried alongside her husband at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Her burial will be at the discretion of the family.
