Obituary

Mary Galvin, 92, died peacefully at her home on February 22, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Myrtle Beach, SC and previously of Poughquag and Bronx, NY.

Born in Dublin, Ireland on September 20, 1933, she was a devout Catholic whose life revolved around her faith and family. Mary will always be remembered as a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

On August 25, 1954 at St. Mary's Pro Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland, Mary married the love of her life, Thomas Galvin , who predeceased her on April 18, 2007. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Patricia and Patrick Kenny, Michael and Kathleen Galvin, Thomas and Hope Galvin, Margaret and Patrick Bruen , Bill and Kim Galvin; her grandchildren, Brian and Michele Kenny, Melissa Kenny, Sean Kenny, Ashlyn Galvin, Thomas Galvin, HopeMarie and CJ Bonifati , Mackenzie and Alex Terry, Meghan and Matthew Passineau , Catilin and James Eckerson, Ciaran Bruen, Jack Galvin and Delaney Galvin ; and her great- grandchildren, Nicholas Kenny. Samantha and John Kenny, Grayson Bonifati, Declan, Liam and Fiona Passineau, Emma, Nora, James and Grace Eckerson. Mary is also survived by her siblings in Ireland, Carmel Winder, Breda Doyle and Maurice Quinn; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James Quinn.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 5 from 4- 8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, March 6 at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
