Mary Garofalo, 97, a resident of LaGrangeville since 1966 and formerly of Scarsdale, died on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Lutheran Care Center.
Born in Chicago, IL on September 1, 1913, she was the daughter of Fausto and Anna Cassiani Berardinelli. She was employed as a designer in the Garment District. Mary was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
On April 18, 1936 at Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx, Mary married Alfred Garofalo who predeceased her on June 16, 1997. She is survived by her daughters, Annamarie Huber of New Port Richey, FL and Dolores Montegari of LaGrangeville; her grandchildren, John and Elaine Huber, Lisa Huber, Annmarie Draper, Angela and Dave Ponte, Alfred and Leanne Montegari; her great-grandchildren, William and Anthony Vittorini, Paul and Michael Montegari, Kayla Draper, Brianna and Emiliano Huber, Lexi and Tristan Ponte, Mandy Jones, Vincent DiPadua, Samantha Cruise; and her great, great-grandchildren, Chloe, William, Gavin and Nolan. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her sister, Rose West.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
