LAGRANGEVILLE - Mary A. Gorman, 93, formerly of Valley Stream and Brooklyn, died on April 22, 2016.
Born in Woodbridge, NJ on March 7, 1923, she was the daughter of Rudolf and Mary (Kibeuk) Henig.
Mary was employed as the secretary to the principal at Valley Stream Central High School for 15 years. She was a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in LaGrangeville and Blessed Sacrament Church in Valley Stream. She was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries in Valley Stream. She will forever be remembered for her American patriotism, her faith in God and love for her family as a wife, mother and grandmother.
On March 21, 1951 in Brooklyn, Mary married Thomas Gorman who predeceased her on January 23, 2002.She is survived by her children and their spouses, Elizabeth and John Wit of Round Rock, TX and Carolyn and Roy Robertson of LaGrange; her grandchildren, Andrew Wit (Yukie), Timothy Robertson (Heidi), Erin Wit, Matthew Wit (Sara), Katie Robertson and John Robertson; her great-grandchildren, Charles Robertson and Skylar Wit; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Anton, Elsie, Stephanie, William, and Rudolf.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island.
