FISHKILL – Mary A. Gray, 93, an area resident since 1997 and formerly of Yorktown Heights, died on August 24, 2022 at Woodland Pond at New Paltz.
Born in Yonkers on June 27, 1929, she was the daughter of Frank and Helen (Rusin) Majdanski. Mary had been employed as a Special Education Teacher for BOCES of Westchester. She attended St. Columba Church and St. Mary, Mother of the Church, and was a member of the St. Denis/St. Columba/St. Kateri Widows and Widowers Club.
On August 17, 1953 in Yonkers, Mary married Edward Gray who predeceased her on August 19, 1999. Mary is survived by her children and their spouses, Philip and Africa Gray, Eileen and Michael Dietz, Janet and Kent Phillips; her grandchildren, Samantha, John, Melissa, Jamie, Michael and Kaitlin; and her great-grandchildren, Joseph, Henry, Charlie, Evelyn, Carter and Charlotte.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Amawalk Hill Cemetery.
