Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Mary A. (Paquin) Lacoste, a Dutchess County resident since 1957 and formerly of Worcester, MA, passed away at home on Thursday, June 17, 2021. She was 92.

Born and raised in Holyoke, MA, she was born on May 30, 1929, daughter of the late Wilfrid and Florence (Denette) Paquin. In her younger years, Mary worked as a secretary for several companies until she began raising her children and became a fully devoted homemaker.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, where she was actively involved as a member of the Marian Guild and Bell Choir, and volunteered at the church rectory and at countless parish events. As a school parent, she also dedicated many years as a lunch mother at St. Mary School.

An avid reader, Mary enjoyed many hobbies, such as crossword puzzles and cross-stitch. She often traveled to Palmetto, FL where she and her husband spent many winters. Above all else, Mary cherished her family, especially her nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. On September 9, 1950 she married Roger G. Lacoste at Out Lady of Perpetual Help in Holyoke, MA. After 70 years of marriage, Roger survives at their home in Hopewell Junction. Additional survivors include her children, Elizabeth Franco and husband Joseph of Agawam, MA, Michelle Paulucci and husband Robert of Poughquag, Paul Lacoste and wife Kim Marie of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and Kathleen Henzler and husband David of Fishkill, her grandchildren: Matthew Franco (Eileen Nee), Andrew Franco (Anastasia), Dawn Rau, Steven Tompkins (Maureen), Jeanette Lacoste, Mary Grace Lacoste, Nicolas Lacoste, Angela Sauer (Don) and Brandon Varco; her great grandchildren: Benjamin and Katherine Franco, Lucas and Emilie Rau, Connor, Landon and Braeden Tompkins, Bronx Lacoste and Jason Sauer, her sister Jeanne Toth and husband John, and many other loving relatives and friends.
