Obituary

Hopewell Junction - Mary C. Lindquist, 87, beloved wife of Merton G. Lindquist of Hopewell Junction, New York and formerly of Wethersfield and East Hampton, Connecticut as well as East Dennis, Massachusetts, was called to her Lord and Savior on Valentine's Day at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City after a valiant struggle with cancer.

Mary was born on September 8, 1924 in Hartford, Connecticut; she was the daughter of William and Helen Clark. She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband Merton G. Lindquist and is predeceased by her former husband, Robert G. Steele of Wethersfield, Connecticut. In addition to "Mert," she leaves behind her two daughters, Jacqueline Dixon and her husband John of Granby, Connecticut and Candis Pasternak and her husband Paul of Hopewell Junction, New York; her two stepsons, David Lindquist and his wife Jennifer of Cary, North Carolina and Steven Lindquist and his fiancé Gary Sullivan of Wethersfield, Connecticut; and her four grandchildren, Amy Pirro and her husband Barry, Jay Dixon and his wife Stacey, Robert Dixon and his wife Diana, and Kim Bartholomew and her husband Daniel. She also leaves behind her four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Natalie, Mary Claire and Brinley, who together were the greatest joy of her life. Mary lived for Mert, as well as for her home and family. She was the love and light of the lives of everyone who knew her. We love you Mary, Mom, Grandma and Nana.

There will be a memorial service at her home at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2012.
