Hopewell Junction - Mary Lucas, 85, a resident of Hopewell Junction and previously of Bordentown, NJ, died on January 14, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.

Born on July 19, 1936 in Mount Vernon, Mary was the daughter of Peter J. and Antoinette (Delano) Vairo.

Mary worked as a typesetter for Princeton Press in Princeton, NJ and Change Magazine in New Rochelle. She was the neighborhood Mom and anyone was welcomed into our home. She enjoyed listening to music and going to the casinos. She loved being with and taking care of her family.

Survivors include her children, Susan McLynn and her husband John of Hopewell Junction, Tracy Lucas and her companion Neil Gerace of Mamaroneck, Steven Lucas of New Rochelle; her grandchildren, Kerry McLynn and her fiancé Tom Martino, Ryan McLynn; her siblings, Marianne And Jake(predeceased) Morton, Grace Voltolina and her husband Hubie, Frank Vairo and his fiancé Natalie, Toni Hawkes and her husband Dave; her niece, Vanessa and Frank Mazzella, Christopher Levin; her longtime partner, Paul Migliacci; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her late husband Thomas Lucas, siblings, Louis and Ralph Vairo and her Godson Larry Levin.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The funeral service will be held at 3:30pm at the funeral home.
