Mary L. Merillat, 66, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1969 and formerly of Lansing, MI, died on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the University of Miami Hospital in Miami, FL.

Born on June 27, 1943 in Lansing, MI, she was the daughter of Doris Markel Bates of Bradenton, FL and the late Edward Bridenbaugh.  She was employed as a programmer for IBM, East Fishkill for 35 years until her retirement in 2003.  She was an active member of the Hopewell Reformed Church where she was very involved with their missions.  She participated in missions to Mexico, Honduras, Peru and Ecuador, as well many local missions.

On March 21, 1964 in East Lansing, MI, Mary married Robert Merillat who survives at home.  In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her sons, Daniel Merillat and his wife, Melissa of Kissimmee, FL and David Merillat of Rochester; and her granddaughters, Cordelia and Emeline.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Hopewell Reformed Church with Rev. Taylor Holbrook officiating.  Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery.     Memorial donations may be to the Hopewell Reformed Church for their Mission Fund, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533.
