HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Mary I. Muro, 80, an area resident for the past 20 years, passed away on September 19, 2015 at Putnam Ridge in Brewster. She formerly lived in Yorktown Heights.

Born in Manhattan on December 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Mariano and Gaetania (Renella) Muro. Mary had been employed in the claims department at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Yorktown Heights for many years. She had also worked for Asiatic Oil Company in Manhattan.

Mary enjoyed listening to the music of Frank Sinatra and Luciano Pavarotti. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Elizabeth Mondello of East Lyme, CT, Lisa and Joseph Sedlor of Hopewell Junction, and Gary and Wendy Mondello of Pawling; her grandchildren, Kyla, Jake, and Sophia Mondello, Madison, Jacqueline, and Ty Sedlor, and Joseph and Pamela Mondello; her brother, Louis Muro and his wife Eness; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, Nicholas Muro.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
