HOPEWELL JUNCTION-Mary Salzillo, 89, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 34 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie.
Born in Manhattan on January 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Manasseri) Sarrica. On November 25, 1945 at St. Ann's Church in Manhattan, she married Ralph F. Salzillo. Mr. Salzillo predeceased her on March 22, 2004.
Mary was formerly employed as a dress maker for ILGWU in Manhattan and the Bronx. She was a parishioner at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
Mary is survived by her children, Madeline Sidoti of Mount Vernon, Marie Sanford and her husband Raymond of Poughkeepsie, and Rosalie Brancaccio and her husband John of Yonkers; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Salzillo of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Ralph Gastin, Anthony Sidoti, Danny Gastin, Joseph Salzillo, Michael Salzillo, Ann Marie Prudenti, Michelle Brancaccio Aprea, and Christine Brancaccio; her great-grandchildren, Danny Gastin, Nicholas Gastin, Brooke Gastin, Daniella Prudenti, Gabriella Prudenti, Vincent Prudenti, Peter Aprea, Alexia Aprea, and Baby Joseph Salzillo; she was also predeceased by her son Joseph A. Salzillo on July 8, 1994; her son-in-law, Vincent Sidoti; and her siblings.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday at St. Denis Church, 604 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at St. Denis Cemetery.
