Matthew Thomas Ivers, 38, of Somerville, MA passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.

Matthew was born in Cold Spring, NY on March 4, 1973. He is the son of Charles E. Ivers, Jr. and Patricia A. Ivers. He was a graduate of John Jay High School and the State University of NY at Purchase.

During his life, he travelled extensively while working in the bio tech industry. His interests were many including scuba diving, jet skiing, magic, cooking and motorcycling.

He was a wonderful son, brother, and generous friend. His quick wit and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his brother, Charles and wife Pam of LaGrange, NY; sister, Suzanne Brophy of Clermont, NY; niece Lauren Ivers; as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his sidekick "Scooby".

Calling hours followed by a short Memorial Service will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY on Friday August 5, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
