Maureen Edna McMahon, a resident of Beacon, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 65.
Daughter of the late Peter J. and Maureen C. (Haverty) McMahon, she was born in the Bronx on July 20, 1956. Maureen graduated from North Salem High School in 1974. She worked as an administrative assistant for the NYS Department of Corrections at Green Haven Correctional Facility.
Affectionately known as "Mo", she enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with her cousins, and always found time to help others. She always appreciated a good joke or sharing funny anecdotes. She loved to swim and enjoyed any activity that allowed her to be close to the water and bask in the sun. In recent years, she loved her seasonal pass to SplashDown. Mo also enjoyed cooking & baking and was also a pro at knitting & crocheting. She liked attending music concerts, community fairs, and parades.
Ultimately, Mo was a person of great faith and loved God.
Survivors include her sister, Kathleen McDaniel & her husband Lee of Cobbs Creek, VA; her brother, Stephen McMahon of South Salem; her brother, Scott McMahon & his wife Rosemarie of Hawthorne; her brother, Robert McMahon & his wife Jennifer of Montgomery, TX; her sister, Teresa McMahon of Brewster; her nieces & nephews: Eric Styer, Gabby & Austin Porter, Christian McMahon, Elaini McMahon, Alexa McMahon, Robert E. McMahon, Mingh Willow McMahon, Joseph & Amanda McDaniel, and Virginia & Ashton Earley; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Peter Joseph McMahon in 1986; her mother, Maureen Carol McMahon in 2020; and her nephew, Scott Vincent McMahon in 2018. She was also predeceased by her faithful companion Zoey.
