As the sun rose on Monday June 6th, surrounded by those who loved her, Maureen T. Munisteri passed on to a better place following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Maureen was born October 25, 1966 in Freeport to Christopher H. Munisteri and Maureen V. Hammel. In 1980, she moved to Millbrook. She was a graduate of Millbrook High School. For the last 19 years, she compassionately cared for her New Horizon family at New Horizons Resources in Verbank.
Maureen leaves behind her loving husband, David C. Andrews; her stepchildren, Cassandra Andrews of DeLand, FL and Roy Andrews of Kingston; and the love of her life her only son, David T. Andrews. She also leaves behind her mother, Maureen V. Munisteri of Millbrook; her brother, Christopher M. Munisteri and his wife Laura of Red Hook; her sister, Jackie and her husband Danny of Pleasant Valley; and several nieces and nephews, Timothy, Jessica and Dustin Treon, Christine and Stephen Munisteri, and Victoria Whiteley. She was predeceased by her father, Christopher H. Munisteri and a sister, Susan Treon.
Maureen enjoyed the outdoors, shopping, WWE, spending time with her family and friends, and most of all relaxing in her pool.
The family would like to thank Dr. Julia Schaeffer-Cutillo and the nurses and techs of the oncology unit at VBH, as well as nurse Cheryl at SFH infusion center, for their compassionate care.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
