WAPPINGERS FALLS – Melanie Moe, 18, a lifelong area resident died at home surrounded by her family on October 7, 2022 after an 8-month battle with cancer.
Melanie was born on June 18, 2004 in North Hempstead. She recently graduated from John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction, where she was the recipient of the AP Art graduation tassel. She had been looking forward to studying art in college. As a gifted artist, her favorite form was drawing, especially Japanese animation. Melanie formed many long-lasting relationships from her years of being in the Girl Scouts, and she enjoyed traveling with her family. She was strident in her strong opinions, and always looked out for her brother.
Melanie is survived by her parents, Conlan and Melissa (Nadine) Moe; her brother, Tristin Moe; her grandfather, Lloyd Morris; and many friends and extended family.
Visitation will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1 -5 pm with a funeral service beginning at 4:30pm.
