Michael Edward Callahan, 20, a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, died suddenly on Friday, August 6, 2010 in Florida. Born in Poughkeepsie on July 3, 1990, he was the son of Edward Callahan and Barbara Altadonna. His favorite hobby was rock climbing. He is survived by his mother, Barbara at home in Hopewell Junction; his father, Edward in FL; his brothers & sisters, Kristen Callahan, Bryan Callahan, Kevin Callahan, Jean Callahan, Helene Thompson, & Liz Downes; his grandmother, Gertrude Altadonna; and his nephew, Logan Dobkowski. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Gloria McCanna officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael Callahan Memorial Fund, c/o Family Ties of Westchester, 112 East Post Rd., White Plains, NY 10601. This fund has been established to benefit youth struggling with substance abuse.
