FISHKILL – Michael J. Canale, Jr., 75, an area resident for the past 10 years, died on July 23, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in the Bronx.
Born in Manhattan on January 25, 1946, Michael was the son of the late Michael and Fannie (Pepe) Canale, Sr. He proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post #203 in Beacon.
Michael's 45-year career on Wall Street was very important to him, retiring in 2011 as Senior Vice President at Pershing LLC after 30 years of service with them.
In April of 1969, he married Elena (Marotta) Canale. His wife of 52 years survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Christopher and Dana Canale of Fishkill and Danielle and Anthony Calascibetta of the Bronx; his grandchildren, Eric, Nicki, Anthony, and William; his siblings and their spouses, Theresa and John Cacavio, John and Catherine Canale, and Mary Jane and Anthony Gentile; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Michael was also predeceased by his brother, Mario Canale.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by military honors.
