Poughkeepsie – Michael Cavallaro, 90, died on January 8, 2021 at his home.
Born in Poughkeepsie on August 17, 1930, he was the son of Mario and Lorenza (Patane) Cavallaro. Michael had been employed as a Mason with Local #44 in Poughkeepsie. He served as the Vice President of the union, and then as a business agent. He enjoyed woodworking and sailing.
On March 25, 1961 in Brooklyn, Michael married Genevieve “Jeannie” Kojola who predeceased him on February 29, 2010. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Grace Pennisi and Mary Belfiore; and his nephew, John Belfiore.
Michael is survived by his nieces and nephews, Maryanne (Belfiore) Dykas, Joseph Pennisi and his wife Connie, Anthony Pennisi and his wife Paula; and many great nieces, great nephews, great, great nieces and great, great nephews.
Service are private at this time. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Hudson Valley.
