Obituary

Michael W. Cerrone, 92, a resident of The Fountains at Millbrook and formerly of the Bronx, died at his home on Thursday, December 5, 2013.
Born in the Bronx on March 29, 1921, he was the son of Libertino and Mary Vallachi Cerrone. Michael served our country in the US Navy during World War II, the Korean War and the Cuban Missile Crisis and was employed as a Battalion Chief for the City of New York Fire Department. He had been a member of St. Helena's Church in the Bronx for many years.
Michael is survived by his wife of 68 years, Edith Anzivino; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, George Cerrone; and his sister, Mary McAvoy.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:45am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment in Ferncliff Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Pediatric Unit.
