WAPPINGERS FALLS – Michael John Colley, 60, a lifelong area resident, died suddenly on July 22, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Sharon, CT on November 17, 1960, he was the son of the late Robert and Marie (Lear) Colley. Michael was a Registered Nurse at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Westchester Medical Center. He was active in providing continuing education for health care providers throughout the Hudson Valley.

Michael was a devoted parishioner of St. Columba Church where he taught Religious Education for many years. His most loved title was that of "Papa", lovingly caring for his grandchildren and homeschooling them for the past year.

On September 18, 1983 at St. Denis Church, Michael married the love of his life, Lynne Cushing, who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands, Angela and Anthony Mills, Michele and Michael Ashlock, Kaitlyn and Kyle Brannigan; his grandchildren, Darby and Michaela; his siblings, Kevin Colley, Robert Colley and Susan Watts; his mother-in-law, Joan Cushing; his uncle, Gerard Lear; and many other loving family members and friends. Most of all, he was devoted to his family.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
