Michael “Peter” Condon, 81, a resident of Wappingers Falls for 42 years and formerly of Queens, died on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Cortlandt Healthcare Center.
Born in Cork City, Ireland on June 27, 1928, he was the son of Michael and Emily Milligan Condon.  A carpenter by trade, he was employed by the Home Depot in Wappingers Falls for the past 12 years. He was previously the co-owner of Kitchens Plus in Hopewell Junction.   Peter was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and a member of the Dutchess County Ancient Order of Hibernians and BPOE #2609 in Wappingers Falls.  He loved to tell Irish jokes.

On January 28, 1961 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Cork, Ireland, Peter married Norma Duggan who survives at home.  He is also survived by his children, Michael Peter Condon and his wife Susan of LaGrangeville, Anthony Condon of Jacksonville, FL and Deirdre Mance and her husband Jared of Hurley; his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Michael Peter, Jack, Christopher and Liam Condon, Anthony Tyler Condon and Declan and Emily Mance; his brothers, Jack Condon of Yonkers and Robert Condon and his wife Eileen of Yonkers; his sisters, Carmel Cledic and her husband Pierre of Queens, Emily Pesa and her husband John of Queens and Mary Barrett and her husband Charles of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
