HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Michael Frances Costabile, 86, an area resident for over 51 years, died on April 3, 2025 at the Taconic at Hopewell Rehabilitation Center. He previously lived in Yonkers.

Born in Yonkers on August 27, 1938, Michael was the son of the late Anthony and Genevieve (Sawicki) Costabile. He proudly served in the US Air Force.

He began his career as a firefighter for over 28 years with the City of Yonkers Fire Department. He then worked for the United State Post Office in Newburgh for 15 years until his retirement.

Michael was a world traveler who enjoyed extensive trips throughout Europe and Costa Rica as well as numerous stateside road trips with his daughter. He liked to read, cook, enjoyed architecture, spending time with animals and loved a good cup of coffee on his front porch! One of his favorite past times was meeting up regularly with his firefighter friends at Daddy O's. He was a skilled carpenter who also was into antiquing and attending local flea markets. More than anything else, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with his grandsons.

On April 27, 1968 in Yonkers, he married Susan (Murin) Costabile who survives at home after 57 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, Jennifer Costabile and her boyfriend Gary McMillan of Hopewell Junction and Christopher Costabile and his wife Michelle of Fishkill; his grandchildren, Andrew, Aidan, and Jacob; his step-grandchildren, Marina, Lorenzo, and Mia; and his nieces and nephews, Kim, Audrey, Scott, Shaun, and Jimmy.

Visitation will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Sunday, April 6th from 2 - 5 pm with a funeral service at 5 pm.
