May 11, 1949 – March 16, 2025
Wappingers Falls- Michael J. Geraghty, a resident of Wappingers Falls, NY, formerly of Mount Vernon and Tuckahoe, passed away on March 16, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 75 years old.
Michael was born on May 11, 1949, in Rochester, NY, the son of the late James and Ruth (Quinn) Geraghty.
From 1969 to 1973 Michael proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He obtained the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force at the rank of Seargent.
For over 40 years, Michael worked for the United States Postal Service as a truck driver in White Plains, NY.
On May 1, 1971, he married the love of his life Kathleen "Kathy" (DeBuono) at Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx, NY. She survives at home.
Mike was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, but above all he loved being "Grandpa and PopPop" to his 5 loving grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife Kathy. Mike is survived by his three children: Chris and Annmarie Geraghty, Michelle and Eric Byrwa and Jenn and Vinny Radesca. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Katie, Evan, Carey, E.J., and Vincenzo along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike is predeceased by his sister Gail Peck.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill Inc. 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY from 4pm - 8pm. A service will take place in the funeral home at 7:30pm. Interment will be on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 10:30am at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
