BEEKMAN - Michael A. Gruen, 53, devoted husband and father, died on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. He was an area resident for 23 years and formerly of Queens.
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 6, 1958, he was the son of Martin Gruen and Therese Chemtob. Michael was employed as a salesman for DCH Toyota in Wappingers Falls. He developed many special relationships with his co-workers and clients through his gentle, helping, and loyal demeanor. He was a member of the Mission Church in Holmes where many loved him as family.
On July 20, 1986 in Queens, Michael married Lauri Liebowitz who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Matthew Gruen, 22, a graduate student at Stony Brook University; and Sarah Gruen, 19, a student at Zion Bible College; his mother, Therese Chemtob of Canton, GA; his father and wife, Martin and Sarina Gruen of Mission Viejo, CA; his brother, Eric Gruen of Canton, GA; his half siblings, Jamie Lynn Baldwin of Hawaii, David Gruen of Mission Viejo, CA, Jennifer Gruen of Mission Viejo, CA, and Karen Victoria Farina of Alpharetta, GA; his aunt, Fredda Resnick of Florida; his nephews and cousins; and many loving friends.
The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 7pm at the Mission Church, 4101 Route 52, Holmes.
