Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Michael Patrick Lovett, 66, an area resident for 24 years and formerly of Brooklyn, died on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Manhattan on January 14, 1947, he was the son of the late Michael F. Lovett and Hannah Riordan. His mother survives in Mattituck, LI. On October 5, 1981 in Manhattan, Michael married Elizabeth Pagnoni. His loving wife of almost 32 years survives at home.
Michael proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1967-1968. He was employed as a Sergeant for the New York State Office of Court Administration in White Plains for 32 years until his retirement in 2002. He respected everyone he worked with and absolutely loved the job. Michael was a lifelong New York Mets Fan and New York Rangers fan. An avid reader, he also enjoyed history.

Michael is also survived by his daughter, Ryan Elizabeth Lovett and her fiancée Sarah Rose of Philadelphia, PA; his siblings, Mary Regan and her husband Daniel of Southold, LI, Eileen Browne of Aquebogue, LI; Daniel Lovett of Mattituck, LI, Ann Lovett of Boston, MA, and Agnes Lovett of Mattituck, LI; and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by military honors at 8 pm.
Michael was a tissue donor. In lieu of flowers, Michael would have wanted his friends and family to consider organ and/or tissue donation.
