WAPPINGERS FALLS - Michael Maturo, Jr., 82, a Dutchess County resident since 1974, formerly of Hamden, CT, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Sunday, January 30th, 2011.
He worked as a heavy equipment salesman for Newquip in Newburgh, where he was employed for 15 years until retiring in 1988. Michael was currently working in the sales department of Kessler Truck & Tractor Sales in Middletown. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. One of ten brothers and sisters, he was born in New Haven, CT on October 11, 1928, son of the late Michael and Mary Perfetto Maturo.
On April 11, 1953, he married Anna Castricone at Assumption Church in Woodbridge, CT. Mrs. Maturo survives at home.
In addition to his wife, Michael is also survived by his daughter, Cindy DiCesare & her husband Sergio of Wappingers Falls; his son, Michael Maturo III & his wife Jo-Anne of Poughquag; his son, Kenneth Maturo & his wife Loretta of Poughquag; his son, Ronald Maturo & his wife Kathy of Poughquag; his grandchildren, Rosemarie Evans & her husband Donald of Alaska, Melissa Nero & her husband William of Putnam Valley, Michael Maturo IV of Poughquag, Matthew Maturo of Poughquag, Kayla Shaw of Poughquag, Kenneth Maturo, Jr of Poughquag, and Ileana Maturo of Poughquag; his great grandchildren, Donald, McKenzie, Dylan, Nichole, and Madison; his brother, Dominick Maturo of CT; several nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.
Michael was predeceased by eight of his brothers and sisters.
Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12p.m. on Saturday at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Denis Cemetery.
