STORMVILLE - Michael John Murphy, 66, an area resident for 39 years, died on August 14, 2021 at Westchester Medical Center.

Born in North Tarrytown on August 3, 1955, he was the son of Martin Francis and Hazel Frances (Travis) Murphy. Michael was employed as a Sanitation Truck Driver for Local 813.

On December 4, 1976 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ossining, Michael married Christine Jean Karas who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Michael Martin Murphy; his grandson; his siblings, Catherine Schlichtman, Martin (Angela) Murphy, and Bridgit Murphy; his sisters and brothers-in-law, JoAnn (Daniel) Reck, Joseph (Kathy) Karas; his nieces and nephews, Gina, Katy (Joe) Moral, James (Jessica), Jeff, Jennifer, Taylor, Kenny, Brianna, TJ, Jessica Welch, Kathryn DuBord, Tracy (Kris) Bury, Brianna (Kenny) Barton, Cassandra and Paige Karas; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, John Thomas Murphy; his sister, Patricia Murphy; his niece, Michelle Sand; and his nephew, Christopher Karas.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 27, from 4-8pm. There will be a service at 7:30pm. Interment will be in the family plot at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, North Tarrytown, NY on Monday, August 30 at 1pm.
