Hyde Park – Michael C. Muscat a local area resident for forty years, died at home on January 1, 2023. He was 68.

Son of the late Salvatore Muscat and Fernanda (Belanger), he was born in the Bronx, NY on May 20, 1954.

Michael worked at Empire State Carpenters in Hopewell Jct., NY since he was 17 years old. He retired 10 years ago.

Michael enjoyed riding and collecting Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He had a 1948 Harley Davidson. He loved to admire the 17th and 18th century homes throughout upstate New York. It was a great passion of his. He built and designed his home in Fishkill to emulate the craftsmanship and charm of colonial homes during the 1700s. He renovated the historical home of Hendrick Kip built in 1753. The home is in Fishkill on Glenham Rd and is where General Washington visited.

Survivors include his four brothers John Muscat of Florida, Gil Muscat (Judy) of Powhatan, Virginia, Paul Muscat of San Francisco, California, and Robert Muscat of Hyde Park, and over a dozen nieces, nephews, and cousins in America and Canada.

He was predeceased by his infant son Nicholas on April 3, 1987, his father Salvatore Muscat, mother Fernande Muscat, his brother Pasquale Muscat, and sister Mary-Ann Fernald.

Calling hours will be held from 12 – 2 PM on January 8, 2023, at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, 1089 Main St, Fishkill, NY 12524. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 Am on Monday, January 9, 2023, at St. Mary's Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson St, Fishkill, NY 12524. Burial will follow at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
