Obituary

Michael R. Pauley,78, Bronx native, 25 year resident of Troy, NY, passed away on May 26th after losing his battle to Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his loving wife Norah, his daughters, and their spouses; Moria and Tony, Erica and Josh, Cheryl and Greg and Jamila her husband Henry. He's also survived by his grandchildren Aislyn, Ryan, Nathan, Aiden, Zach, Ollie, Hamza & Noor.

He was a man who loved his family fiercely and loved to share stories about them with anyone who would listen. Mickey was a man who loved to be philosophical and share life lessons whenever he could. One of his favorites was, "Always remember what you permit, you promote." He may not have been rich in money; he didn't need to be, because the thing he valued the most was time spent with his family. This he said, made him richer than he ever thought possible.

Mickey was an avid skier, and his favorite place was Jiminy Peak, where he spent countless days with his friends laughing about who had the fastest time down the mountain and drinking a Widow's ale at Christiansen's Tavern. His favorite condiment was ketchup, which he declared was good enough to put on everything and we mean everything. His terrible sweet tooth caused the family to hide the cookies before he came over or he would've eaten them all before dinner. Every Christmas Eve Day he made sure to go to Conti's in the Bronx for what he considered the world's best Boston Cream Pie and of course an overabundance of cookies. For the record, in his opinion there could never be enough pie. Mickey believed that everyone needed a good Hawaiian shirt in their closet for any time of year and would be excited that they're finally making a comeback.

If you were lucky enough to know Mickey, you truly were lucky enough. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to https://www.stride.org this way every differently abled person gets a chance to participate in the sports they love.
