Michael Rosa, 97, passed peacefully in his sleep on September 7, 2024. Mike was born on May 4, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY. He recently lived in Eastdale under the compassionate care of the Lutheran Care Center. Mike loved music and worked at the Metropolitan Opera House as a teenager. At 18, he was drafted into the Army and sent to Germany as WWII was ending. He attended the Juilliard School of Music, Brooklyn College, and Columbia University for his master's degree. He taught music for almost 40 years in NYC and later worked as a paralegal. Mike was a deep thinker, his intelligence shining through in his quick wit, dry sense of humor, and ability to give the best advice. He was fluent in Italian and Sicilian and spoke German. He was a gifted pianist, even in his last days. He loved mechanics, electronics, working on cars, and flying airplanes. Mike's many travels included trips cross-country, to Canada, and throughout Europe, most often to Italy. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He lived a full life surrounded by people who admired and adored him. He is survived by his devoted family including his wife Marie, his daughter Maria, and his granddaughters Laura and Tess.
