Michael A. Valenti, 46, a resident of LaGrange since 1978 and formerly of Yonkers, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his home.
Born in Yonkers on November 4, 1967, he was the son of Fiorillo Valenti of LaGrange and the late Lucille Ann DePoto Valenti who died on August 27, 2004. Michael was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and loved movies and music. He was employed as the bar manager at the Poughkeepsie Grand and had bartended in the Poughkeepsie area for the last five years. He had previously been the manager of the Video Source in Hopewell Junction for 20 years.
In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his sister, Toni Marie Catucci and her husband Frank of LaGrange; his brother, Christopher Valenti of LaGrange; and his niece, Gabrielle Valenti.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
