Michael Francis Vesey, 52, an area resident for more than 45 years and formerly of Scarsdale, died on February 22, 2022.
Born in Yonkers on June 22, 1969, he was the son of Edward and Kathleen (Shackel) Vesey. Michael graduated from John Jay High School in 1987. As a child, Michael played little league for the Town of Wappinger baseball program, Pop Warner football, loved collecting sports memorabilia, and using his hands to construct and build. A carpenter, he was a member of Local #279 in Orange County. An avid sports fan, Michael loved cheering on his favorite teams the New York Yankees, New York Rangers, and New York Giants. He had the gift of gab, enjoyed cooking, and sharing scratch off tickets with those around him.
Michael is survived by his parents, Edward and Kathleen; his siblings, Kevin Vesey (Geriann), Karin Scrocca (John), Joseph Vesey (Daniel), and Kathleen Lynch (Christopher); his nieces and nephews, Julia, Jake, Joseph, Taylor, Madison, Christopher, Lily, Mason and Landon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
