Michael
Walsh
December 31, 1967 – March 4, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Michael Walsh, who left us far too soon, on March 4th, 2025.
Michael was a lifelong resident of East Fishkill, where he lived with his devoted wife JoAnna (Walsh) of 28 years.
Michael was well known and loved by all who knew him. A dedicated, loyal and thoughtful husband, son, sibling, uncle and friend. Michael was a very kind, gentle and sweet person who always knew when to show up, most of the time being the first one to arrive and help in any situation. Michael's ability to empathize with everyone in need without judgement was his superpower. He was the friend you knew you could call at any hour when you needed someone to listen, or the person to sit quietly by your side when you didn't want to be alone. Michael seemed to know what his friends and family needed, even when they didn't know themselves. He was known for his quiet "drive-bys" to make sure all was good; to leave soup in a loved one's mailbox; or a quick drop-in to deliver his amazing chicken cutlets, and one's favorite rolls or treats. Whatever it was, he just knew...
Michael was the fun Uncle who would arrive just before bedtime and yell, "where are my rotten kids?" and buy his buddies an extra hour of staying awake, filled with fun and crazy laughter. He was the uncle who would pick you up for the day and share his hobbies of fishing, building/creating, cooking and sharing his ability to fix almost anything mechanical. The Uncle and friend who would jump online to enjoy an hour or a whole evening of video games. He was adored by ("the kids") for his late-night pick-ups to take them on a Dunkin, McDonalds, or WalMart run. While being together with his wife and family, at home was his favorite place, Michael was always up for a good road trip to "check something out" but especially to spend time with those he loved.
Michael is survived by the love of his life, best friend and wife, JoAnna Walsh; his father, George Walsh, siblings, Sean Walsh(Julie), Michelle Conrad(Steve), brother in law, Tim Roberts, Father in law, Larry Roberts and his adoring nieces and nephews: Kayla(Remy), Olivia, Patrick, Sophia, Daniel, Samantha, Dylan and his great nephew, Rohm and great niece Maisy. Michael is predeceased by his mother, Patricia Walsh and mother-in-law, Kathy Roberts.
The grief of our loss will be with all of us for a lifetime, but the joy of Michael's memories will remain forever in the hearts of all who loved him.
There will be a celebration of Michael's life at a later date. Donations may be made in memory of Michael to your favorite charity or to Compassionate Animal Rescue Efforts of Dutchess County.
