Police Officer Michael C. Williams, 25, of the Bronx and formerly of Poughquag and Mahopac, died on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Lincoln Medical Center following a tragic accident while on duty.
Born in Carmel on May 25, 1989, he was the beloved son of Michael G. and Joann Johanson Williams of Poughquag. He graduated from Arlington High School in 2007 and from Keene State College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. He enjoyed playing golf and basketball.
Michael was employed by the New York City Police Department, 47th Precinct, Bronx. The NYPD was his life and he recently joined the Viking Society.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his grandmother, Barbara Johanson; his aunts and uncles, Gary and Georgann Johanson, Roy and Donna Johanson, Tommy and Barbara Johanson, Karen and Mark Fransen, Kathleen Paddock; and many cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville. Interment will follow in the family plot in Union Valley Cemetery, Mahopac.`
