WAPPINGERS FALLS – Michele "Mike" Saraceno, 80, a resident of Dutchess County since 1973 and formerly of the Bronx, died peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his home.

Born on August 2, 1930 in Ripacandida, Potenza, Italy, he was the son of Donato and Angela Saraceno. Mike owned and operated the Hooker Avenue Barber Shop in Poughkeepsie for many years. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and a member of Joe DiMaggio Lodge #2248, Sons of Italy.

On October 27, 1955 in Ripacandida, Mike married Antonetta Benigni who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Donato Saraceno of Wappingers Falls, Dario Saraceno of Newburgh and Diana Regini and her husband Andre of LaGrangeville; his grandchildren, Nichole Kelly and Nicholas Regini; his great-grandchildren, Sean and Mackenna; his brothers, Lou Saraceno of Long Island, John Saraceno of Wappingers Falls and Aldo Saraceno of Wappingers Falls; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Dario Saraceno and his sister, Antoinette DeCicco.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
