Obituary

Mildred Lazar Guido, 78, a lifelong resident of the Bronx, died on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Morningside House Nursing Home.
Born in the Bronx on February 3, 1933, she was the daughter of Louis Lazar and Bessie Kosin. In her 50s, Mildred graduated from Lehman College and pursued her dream of teaching. Her passion was working with underprivileged and handicapped children. She was a wonderful sister and generous aunt who loved her family dearly.
Mildred is survived by her siblings: Terry Lazar of Germany, William Lazar of Florida, Richard Reid of Vietnam, Carol Torres of the Bronx, Max Glickman of Hopewell Junction, Robert Glickman of Indiana and Matthew Glickman of Long Island; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Jack Lazar.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am the the funeral home with Rabbi Daniel Polish officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Hopewell Cemetery.
