Mukhtiar Singh, 94, a resident of Hyde Park since 1992 and formerly of India, died on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at his home.

Born in Pakistan on May 1, 1918, he was the son of Thakur Singh and Gia Kaur. He was a self-employed farmer in India and attended the Mid Hudson Sikh Cultural Society.

Mukhtiar was predeceased by his wife, Chanan Kaur, and his daughter, Harbans Kaur. He is survived by his sons, Pritam Singh of India and Amrik Singh of Hyde Park; his daughters, Jonjoginder Kaur of India, Balvir Kaur of New Windsor, Tha Kaur of India and Kuldeep Kaur of India; his brother, Partap Singh of India; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will commence at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Monday at 10am. The procession to the crematory at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery will follow.
