Obituary

Mylen O. "Bud" Hoff, a Wappingers Falls resident since 1968, formerly of Illinois and Wisconsin, entered into rest surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 81.
Son of the late Freeman and Mildred (Severson) Hoff, he was born on April 9, 1933 in Viroqua, WI. A Korean Conflict Veteran, he was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1953 and honorably discharged in 1955. He received commendations, including the National Defense, United Nations, and Korean Service Medals.
He began his career in Crystal Lake, IL as a junior high teacher. He later went on to work for I.B.M. at many locations across the United States including Chicago, San Francisco, and New York. He retired in 1991 as a Benefits Administrator.
Bud was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. He was an avid golfer, and his love for the sport led to a seasonal home in Myrtle Beach, SC, where he and his wife enjoyed their winters for the last 12 years. He was also a member of the Fishkill United Methodist Church. Above all else, he cherished his family as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
On January 5, 1957, he married Delores Bancroft at Cargill Methodist Church in Janesville, WI. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together. Mrs. Hoff survives at home.
In addition to his wife, Bud is also survived by his daughters, Carole Hoff Repose of Hopewell Junction and Kathy Hoff Knauss & her husband Raymond of Wappingers Falls; his sons, Ronald O. Hoff & his wife Melissa of Apex, NC and Brian D. Hoff & his wife Sandy of Poughkeepsie; seven grandchildren, Adam & Connor Repose, Alex & Mitch Knauss, Erica Hoff, and Jennifer & Kevin Hoff; and his sister, Gwen Spencer & her husband Ron of Menifee, CA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. He was blessed with many longtime, wonderful friends and neighbors, as well as his loyal dog, "Louie". He will truly be missed by all.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 6 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral home service will begin at 7 p.m. immediately following the calling hours, with Rev. Linda M. Willey officiating. The U.S. Army will conduct Military Honors. Interment will be at Fishkill Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
