Nancie A. Messina, a technical support specialist and freelance artist in her spare time; a beloved mother, grandmother-to-be, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, niece, cousin, and best friend, entered into eternal rest on Thursday February 18, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 51 years old.
She is survived by her two sons, Kennethlee Joseph and Phillip Jr.; survived by her six loving sisters; Lee Jeanne Messina and fiancé Brandon Baker of Bethel CT; Tina Florio and husband John of Bronxville NY; Michelle MacDonald and husband Daniel of Wappingers Falls, NY; Carolee Rodriguez and husband Abel of Glenham, NY; Theresa Kemper and husband Donald of Cashiers, NC; Margaret Daly and husband Ed of Fairfield, CT; her son Ken's father Luis Jimenez of Middletown, NY, loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as many friends. Nancie was predeceased by her husband Phillip Frederickson of Poughkeepsie, NY, her parents Ken and Carol Messina, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Nancie had many nicknames – "Jerky, Nan, Nana, Nance, Nannie, Boogs" – these were many of the fun loving nicknames that she was given, reflective of her sense of fun and laughter. She truly loved her sons, her family, all of her nieces and nephews, and her friends. She also had a great love for all animals.
A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends. Due to Covid requirements, capacity will be limited.
