Wappingers Falls- Nancy E. Closter, a resident of Wappingers Falls, NY, previously from New Rochelle, NY passed away on January 18, 2024 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born on June 15, 1954, the daughter of Alphonse and Nancy (Alfredo) DePippo.

Nancy attended Notre Dame post high school and obtained her undergraduate degree followed by achieving her master's degree from the College of New Rochelle.

She was a beloved educator teaching Art for the kindergarten through 5th grade classes for the Scarsdale School District.

On December 29, 1991, at Bonnie Briar in Larchmont, she married the love of her life Chuck Closter. He survives at home.

She had passion for her Artwork. She loved teaching her students and was very creative and whimsical. Nancy was a kind, compassionate, caring woman who truly was loved by everyone who crossed her path and will be missed terribly.

In addition to her husband Chuck, Nancy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nicole Malara; her mother, Nancy DePippo; her granddaughter, Gianna Malara; her sisters, Mary Pennington and her husband David, Joanne North and her husband Charlie, Elvira Heinzinger and her husband David and Barbara Piliero and her husband Michael; her golden retriever, Sadie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.

Nancy is predeceased by her father Alphonse DePippo and her sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Robert Oppenheimer.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday January 22, 2024 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY 12524
